Each time you download a new file and try to access something that utilizes the built in scripting components, you will be asked to authorize this access. Scary messages will come up. This is extremely confusing. This video shows that process and explains what's going on.
Bottom line -- these files are stand alone google sheet files. We have zero access to any aspect of your data or your drive. These files have no auto update features nor any features that report any data back to us.
These authorization messages are in fact a good thing, as it reminds users of the built in Scripting Editor which could be used by folks for nefarious means. If/when using google sheets templates in this manner, ALWAYS be sure you trust the creator of the files and always get copies of the files from a trusted source and/or review the scripts and the connected libraries as we suggest in the video below.
